| Overview of the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform |
 |
| The Adobe® Intelligent Document Platform leverages the global acceptance of PDF and XML to bridge the digital and paper worlds. With this, documents travel where they’re needed, as they’re needed, more simply and securely than ever before – both inside and outside the firewall. |

| Overview of Adobe Document Services |
 |
The Adobe Intelligent Document Platform enables enterprises to dynamically merge content from enterprise applications such as PLM and ECM systems and assemble multiple diverse documents into a single, compact Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file. Users can create documents in an ad hoc fashion, whether from the desktop or with centralized administration.
It provides the broadest range of methods for capturing data online or offline, across a variety of devices, for the convenience of users. This includes translation of 3D CAD assets to U3D and embedding them into the PDF documents . The captured data can then be integrated into enterprise applications and used to initiate automated workflows.
Forms in PDF format can be filled in electronically both online and offline. They may be submitted directly to a server or sent via e-mail. The entered data can then be easily retrieved from the form into a database automatically. Entered information in hard copy form can be scanned from a barcode, capturing information from the form. |

The platform applies persistent controls to a wide range of documents. The user permissions and access rights can be dynamically changed even after the document has been distributed and audit logs are available to monitor document usage. With this platform, RFP packet can know contain U3D version of the native CAD file. You may attach STL files for rapid-prototyping, and/or native CAD file for manufacturing. With Policy Server, you can control access to the attachments based on the process stage.
The Adobe Intelligent Document Platform for Design Collaboration can dramatically improve collaborative manufacturing processes like design collaboration. With IDP, 3D drawings can be generated automatically from CATIA or other CAD/CAM systems to PD. They may be viewed as 3D objects in the free Adobe Reader. Recipients may also add their comments to the drawings through the free Adobe Reader. |
